Log In with Your Facebook Username

Log In with Your Facebook Username

Now use your facebook username for login Facebook  instead of Email-id.......

Beginning today, you also will be able to log in to your Facebook account with your username from any Web browser,
mobile phone or Facebook Connect-enabled website.

For example, I can enter my username, "username," in place of my email address when I log in to Facebook.

You will still be able to log in with your email address. We just wanted to add a more convenient way to access your Facebook account. A username gives you an easy-to-remember web address for your Facebook profile so your friends

can more easily find and connect with you. If you don't have a Facebook username yet, you can choose
one here.
you don't no whats your username click here.

Remember, choosing a username is optional and will give you a distinct Web address for your profile. It will not change the name that appears on your profile, in search or elsewhere on the site.

From the beginning of Facebook, people have used their real names to share and connect with the people they know. This authenticity helps to create a trusted environment because you know the identity of the people and things on Facebook. The one place, though, where your identity wasn't reflected was in the Web address for your profile or the Facebook Pages you administer. The URL was just a randomly assigned number like "id=592952074." That soon will change.

We're planning to offer Facebook usernames to make it easier for people to find and connect with you. When your friends, family members or co-workers visit your profile or Pages on Facebook, they will be able to enter your username as part of the URL in their browser. This way people will have an easy-to-remember way to find you. We expect to offer even more ways to use your Facebook username in the future.

Your new Facebook URL is like your personal destination, or home, on the Web. People can enter a Facebook username as a search term on Facebook or a popular search engine like Google, for example, which will make it much easier for people to find friends with common names. Your username will have the same privacy setting as your profile name in Search, and you can always edit your search privacy settings here.

you'll be able to choose a username on a first-come, first-serve basis for your profile and the Facebook Pages that you administer by visitingwww.facebook.com/username/. You'll also see a notice on your home page with instructions for obtaining your username at that time.

Facebook usernames will be available in basic text forms, and you can only choose a single username for your profile and for each of the Pages that you administer. Your username must be at least five characters in length and only include alphanumeric characters (A-Z, 0-9), or a period or full stop ("."). While usernames are currently available only for Romanized text, we're looking at how we might support non-Romanized characters in the future.

Think carefully about the username you choose. Once it's been selected, you won't be able to change or transfer it. If you signed up for a Facebook Page after May 31 or a user profile after today at 3 p.m. EDT, you may not be able to sign up for a username immediately because of steps we've taken to prevent abuse or "squatting" on names.

Facebook Messenger for Windows 7 is Official

Recently, Facebook launched its own messenger
app for desktop users. You no longer need to use third party applications likeYahoo Messenger, Digsbyetc. Now you can use Facebook with messenger owned by Facebook Inc.It is quite easy to use and very much user friendly even. Although it has few drawbacks also as it is not a complete package which user might have expected from Facebook.

Facebook Messenger is an official tool from facebook that enables users to launch facebook chat right from their desktops. This application offers chat, messaging and facebook notifications.

Installation Steps for Facebook Messenger:

  • Firstly download the installer from this link, after downloading the installer it needs an internet connection to install.
  • After installing you can open the facebook messenger desktop client and login to it
How to use Facebook Messenger:

  • After you are logged in you can see a window as shown above, with three buttons on the top for friend requests, messages and Notifications.
  • As you click on any of your friend a chat window gets opened and there you can chat with your friend.
  • Alternatively you can enter your friends name in the below search box and hit enter, and it opens a new chat window.
Last but not least, here is the app's taskbar icon, the notification icon, and the right-click menu.

Facebook believes users want to use the social network’s real-time features without having to keep a browser window open. The social networking giant is clearly hoping that users will leave Messenger for Windows on throughout the day, probably since most Facebook addicts already do so with a browser tab. In addition to being a standalone application, Facebook Messenger for Windows can be snapped to the side of the screen; that’s probably why it only works for Windows 7.

The application was developed entirely by Facebook and does not constitute a new partnership with Microsoft, which is a big investor in Facebook. It’s not clear if Facebook will offer support for anything before Windows 7, or if it will simply move on towards Windows 8. Clients for Mac and Linux will likely only be released if the Windows 7 version proves popular.

Android app for hands-free text messaging

Hands-Free Text Messaging

Most owners of Android-powered smartphones know about Google Voice Actions, which, among other things, allows you to dictate text messages using just your voice.

However, there's still a bit of screen interaction required, as you have to find and tap the microphone to engage Voice Actions. And what about messages you receive? There's no hands-free help there.

Enter Text by Voice, an admirably effective app that makes texting a totally hands-free experience. With it you can send and listen to messages without so much as touching your phone. It's entirely voice-powered

As the above demonstration video, er, demonstrates, Text by Voice requires zero interaction with your phone (save for launching the app before you hit the road). Thus you can leave your phone up on your dashboard, at your side in a cupholder, or wherever, then go about the business of driving.

When a text message arrives, the app reads it aloud--and gives you the option of repeating it, replying to it, or ignoring it. And if you want to compose and send a message, you simply say the activation phrase ("text by voice," of course). That, my friends, is the way all smartphones should work. (Are you listening, Apple?)

Currently in open beta, StartTalking works with smartphones running Android 2.0 or later and is now available for download from the Android Marketplace or by using an Android phone’s browser to visit http://m.starttalking.com. Visitors using personal computers to the StartTalking website can also send an SMS download link to their Android phone. StartTalking works with wired headsets or the Android handset’s speakerphone function.

World’s First Bamboo Smartphone

Bamboo Smartphone

Adzero is world’s first bamboo Smartphone but this is not the first time bamboo has been used in the design of technology products. For example, Bamboo Bicycle was first showcased in 1894; Asus used the natural material in laptops and PCs a few years ago and over the years bamboo, a vegetative fiber which grows in many parts of Nigeria, has been used mainly for temporary structures like fencing of buildings, in rural areas, while in Urban areas it is predominantly used on construction sites as support during concreting.

Bamboo might just be another world’s most sustainable resources. It is the fastest growing grass and can shoot up a yard or more a day. ADzero –a new innovative Smartphone made of bamboo which is receiving backing from a technology entrepreneur, was meant for the Chinese market but it attracted a lot of interest at a London Design Week. The Adzero is a prototype running Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. It will be available at selected independent UK retailers by the end of 2012. “I can’t wait to see my mobile phone in shops this year,” said Woodhouse.

A design student from Middlesex University in the UK will see his unique mobile phone made from bamboo hit the UK market in 2012.
The new smartphone – called ‘ADzero’ - is made from four year old organically grown bamboo specially treated for durability. Like many phones it will include a camera, but ADzero features technology called a ‘ring flash’ not available on any current mobile phone. A circular photographic flash around the camera’s lens ensures very even illumination and minimises shadows. The unique handset is made from as many materials from sustainable sources as possible.

The sleek new phone is approximately half the weight of an Apple iPhone, while boasting a larger screen and runs on the Android system.
The phone is designed by Kieron-Scott Woodhouse, a 23-year-old Middlesex University student from Shepherds Bush, who designed a mobile phone in his spare time after getting frustrated with the lack of variety in the mobile phone market.  After posting his creations on forums and websites, he was contacted by a technology entrepreneur who wanted to bring his ideas to life.

The pair joined forces with a hardware engineer and within weeks had set up a company to manufacture the phone.

Kieron-Scott’s smartphone was initially intended for the Chinese market, but after receiving an enthusiastic reception at a design show in London during London Design Week 2011, his company ‘A.D.’ plan on launching the phone in the UK first and then open up to other markets.  The company will target ‘design aware’ retailers and boutiques in the UK.

Ubislate7+

Ubislate7+

The Indian tablet market has its own product to set the world on Fire: the Aakash, a 7-inch, resistive screen tablet that runs Froyo. It can’t do much, but many aparently think it’s just enough: the tablet sells for thelocal equivalent of $35 to students and teachers. The original has reportedly sold over a million units. Now there’s a slightly improved commercial version available, going by the name “Ubislate 7+” (though the original device had so many codenames and monikers that it might not be the final or only one). The new model gets a modest bump in specs and runs Gingerbread as well.
